- 1 / 5By Jason LucasI remember when the Kilkare was an Icon in Houghton Lake. A place where you could get awesome pub style burger and fantastic battered mushrooms........NOT ANYMORE.
The food was bland and expensive. Albeit the mushrooms were the best part of the meal. The chicken Alfredo was watery and bland, salt and pepper was not enough. Definitely a jar sauce. My wife's battered fish was over cooked and dry.
They charge for everything, extra ranch and extra celery for my daughter.
The server was not personable and didn't clear table through the course of the meal, we all felt as if we were an annoyance or burden to the server.
I can say I was very disappointed and sad to say the least..
Bad job Kilkare.
